Over the course of ones life you wrestle with questions that you just don’t have answers to. Growing up there were some questions that I could never figure out with the biggest one being… What girl From ‘Just the Ten of Us’ would I choose?
If you don’t remember ‘Just the Ten of Us’ it was a spin off of the show ‘Growing Pains’:
In the pilot episode (which aired on Growing Pains in the spring of 1988), Coach Graham Lubbock’s contract is terminated, prompting Mike to lead a protest after he learns that he is trying to support a large family (including a baby that his wife, Elizabeth, just had). Word spreads, and Graham is offered a job at St. Augustine’s Academy, an all-boys private Catholic school in Eureka, California; Graham promptly moves his family to California.
Six of Graham’s children were girls, four of them teen-agers.
His daughters attended the all boys school and that is where the hilarity ensued.
Here are the Lubek daughters, I am sure this was from like Teen Beat or Tiger Beat or whatever:
So it is time for me to rank the Lubek girls and give you a list of who I would choose and why.
Here is my official breakdown of the Lubek girls:
Marie played by Heather Langenkamp
Marie was the ultra religious one and wore glasses on most of the episodes, which is a strike against her… the religion thing not the glasses. She was also the oldest daughter, which when you combine with the whole piety angle makes it almost impossible to get into her pants. And don’t throw the whole Nightmare on Elm Street thing at me, we are comparing the Lubek girls and not their entire body of work.
Out of the four I would have to rank her last.
Cindy played by Jamie Luner
Cindy was a twin on the show, one of the twins was the slutty one and one was the schemer, I can’t remember who was who. I still can’t figure out how the blond and her were supposed to be twins, it is just as probable as Ben Seaver and Mike Seaver really being brothers. Did you see Ben go through puberty? It was the most awkward puberty phase ever captured on television.
Anyways I think the redheaded Lubek girl ranks number two on my list, just for the obvious fire crotch references I can make. (God I need to put a ban on fire crotch jokes around here.)
Wendy played by Brooke Theiss
This was the second twin so she is the flip side of the slut and the schemer. I think this is a good time to give you my opinion of scheming girls, I find it oddly attractive. Is there anything better than a girl with ulterior motives that use people up to get what they want, leaving a path of destruction behind them that goes unrivaled? I think not.
I think Wendy was the slut so I am going to place her third behind the schemer.
Connie played by JoAnn Willette
Connie aka Constance was the youngest of the four that we are comparing. I have heard people call her a tomboy or even a bohemian but for some reason she is my favorite. Maybe it was the spunky attitude, the smart mouth, or the way she crimped her hair. Speaking of crimping, what the hell happened to crimpers? Did that whole phase go out and totally destroy Con-Air? Will crimping ever come back in style? Is there a warehouse full of crimpers somewhere with that company holding out for that style to come back in?
John: We are losing money Jim. How come we are paying ten grand in warehouse costs?
Jim: Crimpers, John… Someday… Someday.
Which is your favorite Lubek girl?
And for you ladies out there: Skippy from Family Ties or Boner from Growing Pains?
